Ahimsa Hand

India

The Ahimsa Hand depicts nonviolence and is a symbol of Jainism, an ancient Indian religion already in evidence around 500 BCE and still in existence today. It teaches a life with no harm to others (some Jains whisk a broom before their feet as they walk to minimize the chance of killing an insect).

This entity appears in the story “19. A Complaint from India”.
