Akhenaten

Akhenaten is one of the best known Egyptian pharaohs and was worshipped as a god. He had a vision where he saw the sun as a single god between two mountains and as a result he changed the worship of many gods to just one, Aten the sun god, and created a new city, Akhetaten, for its worship. But when he died in 1336 BCE, his religion died with him.
