Archangel Gabriel appears in many religions, often with different identities. The Latter-Day Saints couple him with the prophet Noah; Yazidis with the Peacock God Melek Taus; in Islam, he is Jibreel. This ancient icon from Greece shows him foretelling the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary.
