Bes
Djibouti
Bes was a dwarf god worshipped in the Land of Punt (which was heavily engaged in business with its neighbor Egypt) around 2,500 BCE. He is still revered today as a protector of households, and a variety of Bes figurines can be bought, with the typically large head topped by a crown of feathers, goggle eyes, protruding tongue, and bow legs.
This entity appears in the story “10. Blood Sacrifice Week”.
