Buddha

Buddha means “the enlightened one.” Born in Nepal c. 500 BCE, he was a monk, mendicant, and sage, on whose teachings Buddhism, one of Asia’s major religions and philosophical systems, was founded. He has a variety of headgear and is often pictured with an orb in his hands.
