Eyrarland Statue

The Eyrarland Statue is a small seated bronze figure about 1,000 years old. Found in Iceland, it shows the Norse God Thor holding his magical hammer, Mjöllnir. The figurine is probably an amulet for seafarers, who pray to Thor to use his miraculous abilities to help them avoid icebergs and catch fish.
