Mabakhir
Saudi Arabia
The Mabakhir, an incense burner indigenous to Arabia, shows the national emblem of crossed swords over a palm tree. Islam forbids images, so mosques are bare of the statuary beloved by other religions. However, it allows incense and, dispersed in mosques, it aids prayer in the same way statues do in Catholicism.
This entity appears in the story “6. Problems with the Prophet”.
