Makini

Makini

Hawai’i

The Makini or Hawai’ian Warrior Helmet was worn during rituals and ceremonies by the Makini, the carefully chosen military group entrusted with protecting their high chief. Today the Makini can be found on car rear view mirrors and over entrances to homes because it still gives protective powers.

This entity appears in the story “8. Bullying in Oceania”.
