Marduk

Iraq; Türkiye; Syria; Kuwait

Marduk rose through the ages to become the supreme god of Mesopotamia (meaning “the land between the rivers,” the Tigris and Euphrates) during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar I (1125–1104 BCE). His chief temple at Babylon was a ziggurat, where worshippers bowed low before the god, praying that his strength would protect them from evil.

This entity appears in the story “14. The Ancient Middle East”.
