Medicine Buddha

The Medicine Buddha, reputed to be the first doctor, is prayed to in times of sickness. He is often depicted with blue hair, holding a jar of medicine nectar in his left hand and a stem of the healing Myrobalan (a type of plum tree) in his right. He is particularly popular in the Himalayan area.
