Modekngei
Palau, Oceania
Modekngei is a combination of Christianity and the traditional Palauan religion. One of its legends tells of a long-ago princess set adrift in the ocean, who luckily had a hibiscus branch and a coconut shell with her, and from these created an island where the sacred hibiscus now grows.
