Musambwa

Musambwa

Uganda

Musambwa, which means “spirit” or “demon,” is also the name of an island on Lake Victoria. The thousand or so deadly snakes who dwell on the island are the spirit landowners; they are worshipped by the 200 fishermen who also live there. The totem symbolizes the spirit snakes.

This entity appears in the story “2. The Bitterness of the Masks”.
