Nyami Nyami

The Nyami Nyami or Zambezi River God has the body of a snake and the head of a fish. Revered by the Tonga people, he inhabited the whirlpool in the Zambezi River before the Kariba Dam was built. Now he is more secretive but it is said the beating of the Ngoma drum can summon him.
