Our Lady of Holy Death

Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte (Our Lady of Holy Death) is noted for protection, and above all, safe delivery to the afterlife. Popular in Mexico, she is depicted as a female skeleton in a robe, holding a scythe and a globe. Votive candles of her are prayed to, and she is very popular despite repeated censure by the Church, who does not recognize her.
