Pepi I
Egypt
Pepi I, a pharaoh of the Sixth Egyptian dynasty, died in 2282 BCE. An ancient statuette depicts him kneeling and offering ritual vessels. Considered an intercessor between the gods and the people, the Pharaoh would kneel only before a god, so this statuette was probably once placed before the statue of a deity in a temple.
This entity appears in the story “7. An Ancient Egyptian Dilemma”.
