Potopillo Crucifix

Potopillo Crucifix

Mexico

The Potopillo Crucifix is made from sacaton grass, a species of straw (potopillo) grown in Mexico. It is specially treated and made into figures, a tradition hundreds of years old. In this crucifix the body of Jesus is formed of intricately woven straw and hung on a wooden cross.

This entity appears in the story “6. Problems with the Prophet”.
