Quetzalcoatl

Mexico

Quetzalcoatl (“Feathered Serpent”) was a prominent deity of the Aztecs, starting around 900 CE and spreading throughout Central America. The combination of bird and snake shows the deity’s dual nature: the feathers around his neck depict his divine nature, the snake head his human. Interestingly, he was one of the few gods who could fly.

This entity appears in the story “17. The Calavera Enters”.
