Skull and Crossbones

World

The Skull and Crossbones is a human skull above two crossed bones, originating in the Late Middle Ages in Europe as a symbol of death and a memento mori on tombstones. Pirates appropriated it as their flag emblem, probably one of the last images seen by unfortunates forced to walk the plank.

This entity appears in the story “18. A Gratitude Play”.
