Saint Florian

Saint Florian is the patron saint of firefighters. Born in Austria, he entered the Roman Army and trained an elite group of fire-fighting soldiers. He is often depicted against a window in flames. Once, when he’d been trying to save a terrified cat, an angel had to lift him bodily from the flames.
