Saint Joseph, Mary’s spouse, is barely mentioned in the New Testament except as a carpenter (and presumed father or stepfather of Jesus. However, recently he has gained a large following in America because homeowners there believe if his figurine is buried in the grounds of a house for sale, it will go quickly.
