Tanit
Tunisia; Libya
Tanit, as well as a moon goddess, was a mother goddess of life and fertility, who came to prominence in the 5th century BCE in Carthage. Often bottle-shaped, she is associated with the moon, doves, fish, and pomegranates, all appearing on Carthaginian coins and columns dedicated to her. Later on, she was also revered in other parts of North Africa.
This entity appears in the story “10. Blood Sacrifice Week”.
