Tcha Tcha

Tcha Tcha

Dominican Republic, Caribbean

The Tcha Tcha, a type of rattle, plays an integral part in both the Congo’s Del Espiritu Santo rituals and the Dominican Santeria ceremonies. The two blend African religious symbolism with Roman Catholic rituals. The rattle is made of dried seed pods attached to a wand and is part of the music used to summon spirits.

This entity appears in the story “3. Tribal Music”.
