Tiki God

New Zealand; Tonga; Tuvalu; Cook Islands

Tiki gods are depicted with over-large heads, tattooed faces, and small bodies. They date back to ancient Polynesia. Sculptures are still an integral part of South Pacific culture. Offerings are placed before the statues, which are known to have protective powers.

This entity appears in the story “23. Island Faiths”.
