Guan Yu was an actual Chinese general of the Han dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) but is also worshipped as the god of war. Unperturbed by police flares, he uses his guandao blade to dispatch his enemies. Small statues of him are seen in business places and also in criminal hangouts, as he is believed to protect the wealth of business people and criminal folk alike.
