Our Lady of Montserrat, her baby on her lap and the golden orb of the world in her right hand, is one of the most celebrated images in Spain. Known also as the Black Madonna because of the pigmentation of her skin, she is from the Santa Maria de Montserrat monastery near Barcelona.
