Pectoral Cross
Russia
The Pectoral Cross has been a sign of church authority since the Byzantine era. Worn on the chest, it is a part of the vestments in almost all Christian denominations, but its use differs from church to church. In the Catholic church, it is only worn by the top church hierarchy; the Russian Orthodox gives a silver cross to all priests; the Greek Orthodox awards it for specific services.
