Saint Kinga
Poland; Lithuania
Saint Kinga, a 1200s Polish saint, patroness of Lithuania, and royal princess, sold all her possessions and (possibly urged on by an angel) threw her engagement ring into a salt mine. It was miraculously found by miners, who erected a statue of her carved in salt, perhaps another miracle, as it is 300 feet below the earth’s surface.
This entity appears in the story “20. Crowded Christians”.
