Windhorse
Tibet
The Windhorse, famed for its speed, is sacred to Tibetan Buddhists. Placed centrally on their prayer flags and surrounded by mantras in the Tibetan script, the Windhorse carries prayers from earth to the heavenly gods. Each flag color denotes a different element: red, fire; blue, wind; yellow, earth; white, air; green, water.
